Is Certo First Aid Training accredited? Will my certificate be nationally recognised?

Yes, Certo First Aid Training operates as an associate provider of H.E.R.T. (RTO: 32332) which means your certificate is nationally recognised. We follow Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment certificate.


Is there anything I need to do before my training?

Only those doing Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting) and the Asthma and Anaphylaxis course (22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis & 22556VIC Management of Asthma Risks & Emergencies in the Workplace) will need to read pre-course material which will be sent to you via email before the course.

For all other courses, there is no pre-course reading.


What is a USI and how do I apply for it if I don’t have one?

USI stands for “Unique Student Identifier”. It is a reference number made up of 10 digits and capital letters that gives you access to an online record of the training you have done since 1 January 2015. You can use your USI to produce a comprehensive transcript of your training. This can be presented when applying for jobs, seeking credit transfers or demonstrating pre-requisites when undertaking further training. The USI is compulsory for anyone doing Vocational Education Training anywhere in Australia.

When does my certificate expire?

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is valid for 12 months.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is valid for 3 years as long as you keep your CPR current.

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting is valid for 3 years as long as you keep your CPR current.

22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis and 22556VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks & Emergencies in the Workplace are both valid for 3 years.

UETTDRRF06 Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel (LVR) is valid for 12 months.


Is it possible to have a training session at my workplace or home?

Yes, Certo First Aid Training can come to you at your workplace or home to deliver a training session. Discounts apply for large groups. Certo can deliver training across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Ipswich. Please contact us for more information on group sizes, discounts and to discuss how we can best meet your needs.


When and how do I pay for my training?

Companies paying for their staff will be invoiced after the course and payment can be made via electronic transfer.

If you are an individual, you can pay via credit card (Visa/Mastercard) as part of your online enrolment on our website. You will receive your receipt by email.


What happens if I can’t attend the course I have booked?

Please contact Certo First Aid Training at least change to 24 hours before your course so we can re-schedule your training to a date which suits you better.


When will I receive my certificate?

Provided payment has been made, your CPR, LVR or Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificate will be emailed to you within 2 business days

Your First Aid certificate will be emailed to you as soon as you have completed your online assessment as long as payment has been received.

Please contact us if you haven’t received your certificate within these time frames.


What if I don’t feel competent at the end of my course?

Relax, all Certo courses are risk free. If, at the end of your course, you don’t feel competent, you can redo the course for free and then receive your Statement of Attainment.


I have lost my certificate. How do I get a copy of it?

Don’t stress. Please send us an email to including your full name, date of birth, when you did your course and what course you completed. We will send it to you by email, free of charge, ASAP.
