This is the course which is approved and recommended by ACECQA for the Child Care & Education Industry. It includes Asthma & Anaphylaxis as well as CPR.

Instruction is given on how to respond to various emergencies involving injury and illness including Asthma & Anaphylaxis involving children and adults within an Education and Care Setting.

This course unit also incorporates the content of unit HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), which should be renewed every 12 months, as per the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Course duration: approximately 3.5 hours on site - depending on group size, plus 2-3 hours for the online assessment at home.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID004 Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting and HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Learning Methods:

You will learn through a “hands on” approach with practical scenarios in CPR, AED, bandaging etc, and a comprehensive online assessment with questions to be completed in your own time, at your own pace. ? No stress and no pressure! Pre-course study information on Asthma & Anaphylaxis is supplied to each participant prior to attending the session. This minimises the time required at the course workshop. On completion, you will have the skills and knowledge to respond to various First Aid emergencies involving infants, children & adults.
