HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) 

Course focus: CPR training aims to offer learners the opportunity to achieve competence and confidence in the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in a safe, supportive and non-confrontational environment.

Competent completion of this course will entitle you to a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency: HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Topics covered in Workshop include: 

CPR – Baby / Adult, Use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), Manage unconsciousness, Patient Assessment, Duty of Care, Documentation, Reporting, Cultural awareness etc.

What to wear on the day & special considerations:

You need to wear appropriate clothing as you will be required to kneel on the floor to perform a practical CPR scenario on an adult manikin. If you have a disability or any health concern that may impede your ability to perform the CPR practical on the floor, please talk to Certo First Aid Training prior to enrolment. 

Delivery and Assessment 

This training is delivered face-to-face over 1.5-2 hours (depending on group size) and it includes a self-paced online theory training, which takes approximately 1 hour. 

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you are unable to perform the adult CPR practical by kneeling on the floor you will not be able to receive a Statement of Attainment. However, you can be issued a Letter of Attendance if you can only perform the CPR practical on a table or if you are unable to perform the practical component at all.
